Event Date: June 8 – 9, 2019
We’re pleased to announce that The Cambridge Group of Clubs is this year’s official Health & Wellness Sponsor for the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefitting the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, now in its twelfth year.
As we know all too well, many of us, our families, and friends have been touched by cancer. It seems that everyone knows someone who has had to face an incredibly difficult diagnosis.
We’re proud to say that Toronto’s own, Princess Margaret, is one of the world’s leading cancer research facilities, and, with the support of events like the Ride to Conquer Cancer, is continuing to make strides in the treatment of the vast array of cancers affecting so many.
We know that our Clubs are full of keen cyclists who can take their love of riding and make a real difference by joining this year’s Ride to Conquer Cancer.
Why not join the thousands of participants who will raise funds for important cancer research projects this June?
The Cambridge Group’s own Director of Personal Training, Meg Sharp, is our Team Leader for this year’s Ride, and is setting out to build a formidable team of enthusiasts to join her on this amazing two-day event.
But her reason for getting involved is deeply personal, “When my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she was told she had 3 months to live. Instead, she thrived for over 4 years. That incredible gift of time I attribute to her amazing positive attitude, physical strength, and access to cutting edge cancer treatment. I am so thrilled and honoured to have an opportunity to support the RTCC.”
And as a longtime cycling instructor with the Cambridge Group of Clubs, Meg has an inside understanding of our membership, “The Cycling Studios at the Cambridge Group of Clubs are packed with these amazingly driven and fun people who love to be pushed and coached. 18 years later, these classes remain the highlight of my days, weeks, and my life.”
Please join Meg, many others from our team, and our incredible Club Members, to help in the quest to beat cancer. To join our team, please click here. For more details about the Ride, please click here.
